A long lost relative who've you never met has passed peacefully into eternal repose and in their will has left you a substantial bequest, with the stipulation that you use it to take a year off from work, pay the bills, and use the rest to photograph whatever is your passion.

What would you photograph if you could go anywhere and photograph anything?

Dear Fred,

Lhasa. Assuming I could get in. Given that I'm a running dog of the reactionary splittist Dalai Lama clique, that might be interesting...

Tashi delegs,

Roger

I would go in to certain peoples head and exposure their motives, memory and all thoughts, even unconscious.

For a more serious answer, I would finish the list of old Steam engines and railroad sites I've been meaning to get to. And I'd also like to travel what's left of Roure 66.

I would do a family documentation project, travelling to visit relatives ( portraits) and previous residence locations in Germany and Japan. (travel photography along the way)

The cemetery in Paris cant think of the name. Couldnt spell it if I could. I would also like to do a series of erotic photos of Anjolina Jolie.

I would buy one of the new Indian Chief motorcycles built here in N.C. & cruise around to biker events & places across the USA. Meeting people & visiting places off the main strip photo-documenting lives & later publishing a book.

The Northern Silk Road through China, which travels through the Chinese province of Gansu, then follows the mountain ranges to the north of the Taklamakan Desert into Kashgar in the most north-west province of Xinjiang. Then turn south to the Karakoram Highway down into Pakistan.

Should be able to waste a year there... :D

You'd need to insulate it well from vibration! Frances and I once did 5000km around South India on a Bullet with Leicas + Nikons; the only casualty was an internal group in the 200/3 Vivitar that uncrewed itself (repaired once we were back in the UK). Dunno what the Chief's like for vibration but I doubt it's much better than a Harley and a Harley (even with the rubber-mounted Evo) is worse than a Bullet.

Cheers,

Roger

I would like to go to space and take images of the space shuttle and the space station.
Wouldn't that be neat?

Roger I would hav a custom made saddle bag for my gear. These Indians are quieter than a Harley & less vibration. These motorcycles are hand built. I hope they do well. Here is a video on Jay Leno's Garage.
